4 Things to Do During the Festive Season

The festive season is now upon us, and with that comes the social expectation that you will gather, celebrate, socialise and engage in cultural activities. With that in mind, here is a short list of ideas of places for you to go with your family, friends or co-workers.

The African Market

In partnership with OpentheGate, the Africa Centre will be hosting the African Market on Sunday 5 December from 11am - 6pm. The family-friendly and free pop-up event will feature stalls for fashion, jewellery, artwork, hair, skincare products and books.

Black Culture Market

Next weekend, the Black Culture Market will be taking over the downstairs of the Department Store in Brixton with their Christmas market. The organisation supports emerging black businesses and entrepreneurs of African and Caribbean descent by providing the platform for them to showcase and sell their products to the public.

Taking place over two days, the market boasts an exciting shopping and cultural experience as visitors will have the opportunity to discover different vendors on each day. Encounter a unique selection of brands and products including: clothing, accessories, stationary products, books, toys, ceramics, homeware, food and more!
