Dennis Osadebe: Modern Magic

KÖNIG LONDON brings you Modern Magic, Nigerian artist Dennis Osadebe's first exhibition with the KÖNIG GALERIE, closing July 16, 2022, a collection of 10 new acrylic and archival ink paintings on canvas.

Pay close attention and you'll notice the various popular cultural motifs part of  Osadebe's first-ever conceptually guided sculptural exhibition; in an homage to Nigerian craftsmanship each of the chosen objects are symbols of preservation, a nod to Osadebe's artistic approach of combining western techniques with indigenous traditions.

Tickets can be arranged by appointment, Friday- Saturday 1-6pm.

(Un)Choreographed by Sungi Mlengeya

Ugandan gallery Afriart and The Africa Centre presents the first solo-exhibition in London of Tanzanian artist Sungi Mlengeya,(Un)Choreographed, closing July 24, 2022.  Boasting a collection of 8 large-scale paintings curated by Tammi Bello and Jessica Lowe-Mbirimi, the exhibition celebrates the rich history of dance and the many ways in which it has provided a haven for women to be free and express themselves without restriction. Mlengeya's inspiration dates back to her youth watching her mother's fellow tribeswomen dance to Lingala music.
