What We Talking About, Jammie Homes
8 September 2022 - 8 October 2022
Marianne Boesky Gallery in New York presents What We Talking About, the debut New York solo exhibition of self-taught artist, Jammie Holmes. Drawing inspiration from personal memory, Holmes' serial work is littered with recurring motifs exploring intersocial relationships through self-portraiture. Holmes reimagines and adjusts perceptions around black life and experiences in America. Holmes emphasises themes of status and power luxury and appropriation, and acceptance and exclusion.
